Round Top: Fall 2025

What a fun weekend it was - getting to shop around with my precious girl, who will one day join me to shop with mom! A little designer in training :)
My mom traveled from Georgia to Austin to come to the fall show this year. She has been to Round Top before but she knew what to expect this time around. If you’ve never been to Round Top, you don’t really understand what it is like because there is truly nothing else like it!
Let me try to explain - it is basically in the middle of nowhere. It stretches down State Highway 237, there is one way into town and one way out of town. There is one traffic light. And a population of 87 people. Yes, 87 people. There are miles upon miles of antiques, venues, tents, treasure, junk, and so much more. To my understanding, over the past few years it really has exploded. Brands and companies are coming into town to host events and parties. So many airbnb’s have popped up all over - It really is amazing. But I hope the small town charm never disappears.

Our first stop was Blue Hills, of course. We always want to be the first ones there, and we were! It normally gets crowded around 10:30 - 11:00 so we try to finish up by then. But, I have to keep my mom moving or we would be there all day!
Blue Hills has expanded - adding at least 6 buildings to the venue (these buildings have air conditioning!). There are your typical antique vendors but now, more trendy people are coming into Blue Hills. Lucchese, smaller designers, smaller artists, clothing brands— you name it! It is now at Blue Hills. Personally, I have loved the addition, although some argue that Blue Hills has lost its charm - I disagree, it still is very charming and just as exciting as a few years prior.
Mid-Century Modern faux bamboo chrome vanity chairs: I loved these chairs so much, but I thought they were overpriced.
I love finding statement pieces that tell a story. I will treasure this find forever.
After Blue Hills we headed to my favorite - Lulu’s for lunch! It was brief because I wanted to go to a few more venues before the day was over.

While we were at The Compound, I got this 18th Century Venetian-style giltwood pier mirror from Khinds Designs. Personally, I think The Compound is just as good as Blue Hills. If you can’t make it to the first weekend at Blue Hills - most of the good stuff goes quickly!
What a fun weekend shopping, planning and dreaming of a little girl joining us so soon! Next Round Top may look a little different!
