Bridal Luncheon

Botanic - Opelika, Alabama

What an honor it was throwing my twin sister’s bridal luncheon. We selected the gorgeous Botanic restaurant in Opelika, Alabama—a venue so naturally stunning that it made the design process remarkably effortless.

Because I was managing the planning from afar, Amazon became my primary resource. I always begin my tablescapes with a central inspiration piece, or the 'heart' of the design, around which every other element is curated. For this setting, the ‘heart’ was a vibrant wrapping paper that served as the table runner.

I was intentional about incorporating yellow, as it was my sister’s favorite color growing up and a color she considered for her wedding palette.

Her middle name is Joy - yellow reminds me of joy, happiness, warmth, laughter and community, something that I wanted this morning to embody, to kick off her wedding weekend.

The colorful table runner set the tone for how the table would come together. I wanted to install balloons running down the center of the table to draw the eye upward and highlight the room's high ceilings. I anchored the balloon weights filled with pink M&M. A nod to being called M&M growing up.

It’s the small things that are sentimental. She may not have even recognized the details or the story I was trying to portray, but that's part of hosting: the experience, the thought, the energy, and the time. The behind-the-scenes creativity that simply goes unnoticed—and that’s okay with me.

Each table setting was accompanied by a gift from the bride.
